Policy

To qualify for the SSI-MAO Disabled Adult Child (DAC) category, the person must be entitled to disabled adult child's benefits from Social Security.

Definition

Disabled adult child's benefit

Title II Social Security benefits paid to a person who was determined disabled before age 22, and whose parent is deceased or receiving retirement or disability benefits.

 

Proof

Proof that the customer is entitled to Disabled Adult Child's benefits from Social Security includes:

  1. Social Security records that show the person is entitled to Social Security benefits as a disabled adult child; or
  2. Collateral contact with the Social Security Administration that confirms the person is entitled to benefits as a disabled adult child.
