Procedures

If a provider or AHCCCS health plan contacts the AHCCCS CRS Unit and indicates the customer’s CRS application needs to be expedited, the AHCCCS CRS Nurse will:

 

The AHCCCS CRS Unit will determine whether an application should be expedited based on the qualifying CRS condition and the timing of or need for treatment such as:

 

All expedited cases will be completed within 3 workdays from the time all the necessary information is received.

The AHCCCS CRS Nurse will follow the table below regarding expedited requests:

  • Notify the AHCCCS health plan by fax of the expedited CRS designation determination, and provide details of the case.

Further information is needed

  • Contact the referral source and the AHCCCS health plan  and explain what is needed. Send written confirmation of what is needed to the referral source and health plan.

  • If no information is received within five business days follow the normal application process.
